VNA forklift training
Very narrow aisle trucks run on wire or rail guidance in aisles barely wider than the truck, lifting to the highest racking in the building. Specialist RTITB courses for man-up and man-down machines.

About the training
A VNA truck works in aisles too narrow for the truck to turn, so instead of turning it swivels its forks or its whole load handler to face the racking on either side. Guidance wires in the floor or rails keep it in line. It is the truck that makes the densest warehouses possible.
RTITB category F1 is the man-up VNA truck, where the operator's cab rises with the load. F2 is the man-down truck, where the operator stays at ground level and the load handler climbs. Both need training beyond a reach truck certificate.

What is a VNA forklift?
VNA stands for very narrow aisle. A VNA truck operates in aisles typically under two metres wide, guided by wire or rail, and reaches racking that can be well over ten metres high. Man-up trucks lift the operator with the load; man-down trucks lift only the forks.
Do I need a separate licence for a VNA truck?
Yes. VNA trucks are RTITB categories F1 (man-up) and F2 (man-down). A reach truck or counterbalance certificate does not cover them, though it shortens the training: a conversion course rather than a novice one.
