About the training
A multi-directional truck, Combilift being the best-known make, can turn all its wheels through ninety degrees and drive sideways. It carries long loads like a sideloader but manoeuvres like a counterbalance, which is why it turns up wherever long products meet limited space.
RTITB category M1 is the multi-directional counterbalance, M2 the multi-directional sideloader and M3 the multi-directional reach truck. The course adds the mode changes and the load-handling sequence to the skills of the base truck type.

Do I need a separate certificate for a Combilift?
Yes. Multi-directional trucks are RTITB categories M1 to M3, separate from counterbalance (B), sideloader (C) and reach (D). An operator already certificated on the base truck type takes a conversion course.
Which multi-directional course do I need?
M1 if the truck is a multi-directional counterbalance, M2 if it is a multi-directional sideloader and M3 if it is a multi-directional reach truck. Tell us the make and model and we will confirm the category.
