Every lift-truck course we run is RTITB accredited, delivered by RTITB-registered instructors and tested to the RTITB standard. This is what that means for your operators.

About the training
RTITB is the UK's largest accrediting body for lift-truck training. Accreditation means the course content, the instructors and the testing are audited against RTITB's standard, and that the certificate an operator earns is recognised by employers, insurers and the HSE as evidence of basic training under the Approved Code of Practice L117.
BJB Lift Trucks is an RTITB Accredited Partner. Our courses cover the RTITB equipment categories below, at every level: novice, refresher, experienced operator and conversion. Certificates are registered with RTITB, so an employer can verify them.

Questions we get asked
What does RTITB accredited mean?
RTITB audits the training provider's course content, instructors, facilities and testing against its published standard. An RTITB accredited course ends in a certificate of basic training registered with RTITB, which employers can verify.
Is an RTITB certificate a forklift licence?
There is no statutory forklift licence in the UK. The RTITB certificate of basic training is what the HSE's Approved Code of Practice L117 expects an employer to see before authorising an operator, followed by specific job training and familiarisation on the employer's own site and trucks.
How long is an RTITB forklift certificate valid?
The certificate does not expire by law, but RTITB and the HSE recommend refresher training every three to five years, and RTITB's own guidance is three. Employers should also arrange refresher training after an accident or near miss, a long break from driving, or a change of truck.
