About the training
A pivot steer, or articulated, forklift has a front section that swings through more than ninety degrees, so the truck can face racking in a narrow aisle while its back end stays straight. One machine unloads the lorry and puts the pallet away, where a conventional warehouse would use a counterbalance and a reach truck.
RTITB category P1 covers pivot steer trucks. The articulation changes how the truck handles, particularly when turning with a raised load, and that is the focus of the course beyond general lift-truck skills.

Does a counterbalance licence cover a Bendi or Flexi truck?
No. Articulated trucks are RTITB category P1. A counterbalance certificate shortens the training to a conversion course, but it does not cover the truck on its own.
How long is pivot steer training?
Typically five days for novices, two days for experienced or conversion operators and one day for a refresher. The length for each level is shown on the course page.
