The Museum of RAF Firefighting is a volunteer-led charity with a collection covering firefighting from the Victorian era to today, with a particular emphasis on the Royal Air Force. Many of the volunteers served with the vehicles when they were in service, so you are never far from a story.
In recent months the museum found itself without a home. BJB provided a TCM forklift so the equipment could be loaded onto vehicles and taken into storage.
“It was fascinating to have the opportunity to look at the wonderful collection of vehicles and equipment at the museum. We are fortunate to have access to such incredible history in our region and great credit is due to all the volunteers for keeping it accessible to the public. All the team at BJB highly recommend a visit.”
A call for help
The museum is still looking for a building of around 50,000 sq ft in Lincolnshire, ideally from a landlord willing to house a charity. If you can help, contact the museum at enquiry@firemuseum.uk or on 01522 730198, or visit firemuseum.uk.
